Blues KitchenThis is my latest recording effort of 6 original tunes and 5 cover songs in the rocking R&B flavor I so dearly love. With the traditional instrumentation of a driving rhythm section, layered guitars, b-3 organ or piano, and two horns, this record serves up a full but not filling portion of music reminiscent of bygone days. The musicians are top notch, an important ingredient for any successful recipe, and it was not only fun to make but will surely be fun to serve up live every time. Come In To ChristmasMy Christmas CD 2011 includes 7 original songs and 4 Christmas classics that were recorded this summer at DKS Studios. The original compositions were written and performed for the Centerville Presbyterian Church Christmas concerts from 2004 – 2010 at the request of the musical director, Darryl Guzman. It was a new format for me, to write for and perform with a choir (on 4 tracks) and an orchestra, and although daunting at times it was very rewarding. Besides doing the orchestration, Brad Catania also adds his beautiful trumpet and flugelhorn on 4 Christmas classics that will certainly please even the most discerning ear. We hope it blesses you as it has us in its creation. You can listen to samples of the songs on CD Baby. | ||
Live at the SaloonThis is a live recording made at the Saloon in San Francisco. The band consisted of my long time friend and associate, Jan Martinelli, on bass, and Linda Geiger on drums. In the tradition of such great bands as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix and ZZ Top, the power trio is the best situation for a guitarist to stretch out and be creative. Although somewhat raw, I enjoy this format because, like most musicians will agree, creativity and emotion come through storngest in the moment and the best place to get that is live in the club. |

Nancy WenstromMy self titled CD is a bit of a departure from my standard rockin blues style. I started putting together original material after my son was born and this work is the culmination of that period. It has an admittedly softer edge than my usual stuff, but I think you will enjoy it. I’ve included a few tracks for your listening pleasure. Click the “play” buttons to listen to the songs below. You won’t find these songs anywhere else! |

Apollo DuoThe Apollo Duo is a project I started with my wonderfully talented husband Brad. We were playing a lot of jazz casuals and people were asking us if we had any recordings of our arrangements. We decided it was time to go into the studio and record some of our favorites. The feeling of the CD is very west coast cool kept very simple in more of an acoustic tradition. |
